In a world where it seems like there are no jobs, blockchain, and cryptocurrency industry is defying the odds. In a recent study carried out by top employment company. Indeed, people seeking employment in the blockchain, and cryptocurrency industry have every reason to be happy. 

There has been a steady spike in the number of blockchain and crypto-related job opportunities in the job listing site. From 2018 to 2019, the employment ads relating to the crypto and blockchain industry rose by 26%. This brought the total growth in the sector in the last four years to 1,457%. 

There was a 53% drop in sector-specific job searches in the same four year period. The real glimmer of hope among job hunters came in 2017 during the height of the crypto bull market. It was in this period that Bitcoin price rose to an all-time high of $20,000.

What Do The Top Searches Say? 

Checking the specific searches for this year, a pattern emerges. The top five sector jobs posted by employers have a close relationship with computers. In no particular position, these top five jobs are full-stack developers, software architects, software engineering, front-end developer, and hardware developer. 

The top five employers listing blockchain jobs are Cisco, IBM, Deloitte, Collins Aerospace, and Accenture in no particular order. Also making the list is Ernst & Young. 

Coinbase, Overstock.com, Ripple, Circle, Kraken, and ConsenSys all find themselves in 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, and 13th positions respectively. Rounding up the top 15 are JPMorgan Chase and Signature Bank in 14th and 15th, respectively. The only mobile company to make the rankings is Verizon at 10th place. 

Indeed suggests that 2020 will see the rise of jobs on offer despite “the extreme price volatility and regulatory uncertainty of cryptocurrency.”
