Blockchain.com Leads Funding In Its Exchange Partner

Blockchain.com is considered by many as the world’s leading crypto wallet service and blockchain data provider. The firm has continued its pursuit of dominating the crypto space now and the foreseeable future. The wallet service has led a funding round in its exchange partner Wintermute Trading. 

Using its venture subsidiary, Blockchain.com Ventures, the company has completed a seed funding round for Wintermute Trading, a United Kingdom-based algorithm trading firm. 

Although details of the exact amount used in the funding are still unknown, sources say that the seed round brought a seven figure investment in total. 

Wintermute and Blockchain.com have been in close partnership since 2019. The investment was birthed after Blockchain.com collaborated with Wintermute to launch its proprietary crypto exchange in 2019. 

“Wintermute was part of the diverse, global group of market makers on the Blockchain.com Exchange when we launched the platform last July, and continues to act in that capacity. In doing so, they help us provide fair pricing and efficient execution for traders of all sizes around the world,” said Peter Smith, CEO and co-founder

He further added that Wintermute had played a key role in Blockchain.com Exchange with highly responsive and efficient pricing and execution tools. 

Smith also mentioned that Wintermute’s technology is completely proprietary. He noted that their platform was designed by trading and algorithmic experts. 

““They understand the intricacies of market structure, and bring a developer-first mindset when tackling the biggest challenges in trading,” Smith noted.

Gaining More Partners 

Wintermute plans to raise more funds to upgrade its technology, and build more desirable cryptocurrency markets. The London-based firm has also partnered with Kraken, Coinbase, Binance and other crypto exchanges. 

Wintermute was founded by a major Dutch trading firm and market maker.
