What does Larry David know about crypto?

The Superbowl halftime ads had lots of crypto advertisements. From FTC to etoro, and crypto.com, there were no shortages of crypto ads at the Superbowl last Sunday.

Two people that actually caught the attention of fans were Larry David and LeBron James, who both featured in ads for FTX and Crypto.com respectively.

David appeared in an ad for FTX, a crypto exchange. The ad had David going through time dismissing various genius ideas like Wheel and electricity, and finally crypto. The point of the advertisement was “Don’t Be Like Larry.” The ad left an impression on a number of people as lots of people were talking about it on social media. For the record, this was not an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but Larry David starring in an actual crypto ad.

While social media will be debating the ad for the next few days, one thing that is certain is that there is no way David knows what cryptocurrency is all about.

This is not a shot at FTX. But if you want to advertise about something, wouldn’t it be great to actually get someone that knows a thing or two about it?

Zach Kornfeld a user on Twitter with the username @korndiddy, had this to say on the social media platform

“Larry David being in a crypto commercial is the single most devastating thing to ever happen to me. Please give me space to process.”

Next there was LeBron James, who started in an ad for Crypto.com. The ad featured James and his 2003 self. The concept of the ad was straightforward, comparing James’ NBA career to that of crypto future and fortune.

David and James were not the only stars to appear in crypto ads at the Superbowl. Both Matt Damon and NBA star Kyle Lowry appeared in separate crypto ads. There were other crypto ads that featured non-celebrities.

The plethora of crypto ads at the crypto will further increase the popularity of the market as well as adoption. Between these crypto ads and the likes of Paris Hilton handing out NFTs recently, it is looking like crypto space will have a new set of fans.
